Creamy Herb Spread

  • 1 (8-ounce) carton plain yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled and minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried chives
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon herbes de Provence
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Pour yogurt into a yogurt drainer or place in a cheesecloth-lined colander that's placed in a shallow pan. Refrigerate 12-24 hours. Remove yogurt and place in bowl. Add garlic, herbs and pepper, stirring until smooth. Cover and allow flavors to meld at least 4 hours.

Garnish with herb sprigs and serve with toasted French bread, pita triangles or water crackers. Also excellent served with grilled pork, chicken or fish.
