Camera Wizard

A very common question asked by computer users with a digital camera is "how do I easily move my images from my camera to my computer?"

Both Macs & PCs already come with software that moves images from the camera to your computer. Today, we're working on a PC with the Windows Camera Wizard. To start, plug in your camera to your computer, turn it on and the wizard will either pop up automatically or you can start it by going to Accessories, then Scanner, then Camera Wizard.

When the Wizard starts, you can see all of the images on your camera. They are all automatically selected with the small check box in the upper left corner of each image. Uncheck the images that you don't want to move to your computer.

After you click again you will be asked for a group name, which is really just a name for a folder that Windows is going to place your images. Windows will place this folder in My Pictures. Click on the Next button and they are moved without any more work from you! For those of you working on a Mac, just plug in your camera and the program iPhoto opens automatically, asking if you want to import your images.

That was pretty easy! Now, your pictures are still on your camera and a copy of them has been placed on your PC!
The possibilities are limitless when using the computer's accessory programs with your family.
