Meet the Producers

Joe ElmoreJoe Elmore, Show Host & Producer
As host of Tennessee Crossroads, Joe Elmore has taken viewers to meet interesting people and explore fascinating out-of-the-way places in his home state. He has been involved with the Emmy-award winning series since its beginning in 1987. Joe also wears another hat, that of producer and co-host of Horsepower TV on Spike TV. Joe launched his TV career at WHBQ TV in Memphis, TN, where he served as weekend anchor and reporter. Later, he was chosen to co-host the station's PM Magazine show, where he produced nationally-broadcast stories. His other related experience includes extensive work as an independent film and video producer for clients throughout the Southeast.

Rob Wilds, Producer
Rob Wilds has been a television, radio and print reporter for more than 20 years, and has been with Tennessee Crossroads since 1993. In addition to his work as a reporter, Rob is a writer, producer and director as well as an actor (with appearances in feature films, television shows and on stage). He is also a teacher. Rob has won several journalism awards, but finds the best reward for his work is meeting fascinating people and visiting the interesting places in his travels with Tennessee Crossroads.

Al Voecks, Producer
A 40-year veteran in broadcasting, Al Voecks began his career in Sioux City, Iowa. Voecks came to Nashville in 1963 and worked as a television news anchor, news director and sports and weather presenter for the NBC affiliate. He has also been associated with WSM Radio and is currently a news commentator on WSIX FM in Nashville. Voecks' numerous awards include being named Broadcaster of the Year by the Associated Press in Tennessee, and he has received recognition from numerous charitable organizations. Voecks has been associated with Tennessee Crossroads since its inception in 1987.

Susan Watson, Segment Producer
Susan Watson began her television career in 1988, during the second season of Tennessee Crossroads. A Middle Tennessee native, Watson studied Spanish in high school and became interested in Mexican culture. She occasionally traveled to Mexico to teach English to middle-school children. As Associate Producer for Tennessee Crossroads, Watson gathers stories, assists during on-location shoots, and writes scripts.

Tammi Arender, Segment Producer
Tammi is country girl at heart and there's good reason. She was raised on a farm in Tallulah, Louisiana. She moved back to Nashville from Baton Rouge where she was an anchor/ reporter for WBRZ, the ABC affiliate. She went to the University of Louisiana at Monroe and majored in Broadcasting. She previously moved to Nashville in 1990 and worked for WSMV, WKRN, and covered the Grand Ole Opry for TNN. She also freelanced for Entertainment Tonight, Lifeway Christian, and TN. Wildside. She is also a DJ in Christian radio for 94 FM the Fish and the Christian nationwide network, Salem Music, in Nashville. Tammi moved back to Louisiana briefly for family reasons. Besides TN. Crossroads, she can be seen each morning on the WSMV Channel 4 News Today as their traffic anchor.
