Governor Bredesen's Cover Tennessee initiative is designed to provide affordable and portable health insurance to more than 600,000 uninsured Tennesseans. During the interview, the Governor will discuss his healthcare initiative and its main components - Cover TN, a partnership between state government, employers and insurers to help low income workers and employees of small businesses; Cover Kids for uninsured children; Access TN for adults who may not be able to obtain health insurance due to pre-existing conditions; Cover Rx to provide pharmaceutical coverage to the state's uninsured; and Project Diabetes to combat one of the most pervasive health problems in our state.
The public is invited to submit questions for the Governor by emailing NPT at question@wnpt.net. The deadline for questions to be submitted is midnight on Sunday, May 14th.
In addition to the Governor's interview, NPT will tape future episodes of One on One with John Seigenthaler. The interviews with Representatives Blackburn and Gordon are scheduled to air back to back on Sunday, May 14 at 1:00 and 1:30 p.m., respectively.
