NASHVILLE PUBLIC TELEVISION HONORED FOR EXCELLENCE

 

NASHVILLE , TENN. February 8, 2007 -- Nashville Public Television (NPT) was recognized with three awards from the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) for its promotion and outreach work during NETA’s annual conference, held recently in Norfolk , Virginia .

 

NPT’s on-air promotion campaign “Time Is Too Valuable to Waste” and on-air promotion spot “Divers,” by Hugh Brian O’Neill, NPT Director of Brand Management and Creative Services, were singled out for excellence in the Promotion category, while “Our Music Heritage,” by NPT Outreach Coordinator Nancy Nikolai was noted for its community impact in the Outreach category.

 

“Reaching our viewers with meaningful promotion and outreach projects continues to be of the utmost priority for NPT,” said NPT president and CE0 Beth Curley. “The community looks to us to provide them an educational service, and when we do so, to deliver it with integrity and excellence. These awards say we’re doing it right.”

 

The NETA awards are annual recognition of member-produced excellence in public broadcasting. NETA is a professional association founded in 1997 to serve public television licensees and affiliated educational offices.
